Egyptian Faience Isis Nursing HorusAn ancient Egyptian light green faience amulet of Isis enthroned nursing the infant Harpokrates. The goddess sits on a high-backed throne and wears a long close fitting dress, and a solar disk crown with cows horns. Saite Period, XXVIth Dynasty, Isis was the wife of Osiris, protector and patron of women, and model of conjugal love. She is often depicted suckling the infant Harpokrates.
