Attic Red-Figure Kylix
An ancient Attic Greek red-figure kylix, a wine cup, with a disk foot and lateral handles. In the tondo are two draped youths. On the exterior there are three draped youths depicted on each side, one regards a crested Corinthian helmet held in his outstretched hand. An incised graffito under the foot. Athens, Attica. Ca. 440-430 BC. Width: 11 3/8 in. (28.6 cm). Repaired. Formerly in a New York private collection; acquired at Sotheby's, New York, December 2, 1988, lot 251; previously Sotheby's, London, May 20, 1985, lot 364.
