An ancient Attic Greek black glazed lekythos with a scrolling palmette pattern on the shoulder and a meander pattern around the upper body.

Athens, Attica.
5th century BC.
Height: 6 1/2 in. (16.5 cm).
Intact.

The lekythos was used to hold olive oil in antiquity and was often left as a grave offering.
