Egyptian Painted Linen Mummy Wrapping

An ancient Egyptian polychrome painted and gilded linen mummy wrapping. The upper register contains a winged solar disk flanked by uraei. Below stands Osiris before a tray of offerings wearing the atef crown and holding a crook and flail. He is flanked by the goddesses Isis and Nephtys each holding an ankh. Below is a Ba Bird with wings outstretched.

Late Period,
Ca. 700 - 30 BC.
Height: 34 in. (86 cm).

Formerly in the collection of Dr. Del, Paris, acquired between 1960 and 1980.
