Egyptian Faience Amulet of Shu

An ancient Egyptian green faience amulet of the god Shu, kneeling, with arms raised to support the Sun, with a back pillar in the form of a feather of Maat.

Late Period,
Ca. 700 - 30 BC.
Height: 7/8 in. (2.2 cm).

Shu was a primordial god personifying the air. He was the father of Nut (sky) and Geb (earth) with his sister and wife, Tefnut (moisture). Shu was considered, as the air, a cooling and calming deity, and as such was associated with peace and order.
