An ancient Roman portrait head of a woman. Her hair is styled in even waves loose around the ears and coiled to form a flat spiral at the nape of the neck.
Ca. 244-249 AD.
Possibly a portrait of Marcia Otacilia Severa, wife of Philip I, or a contemporary.
Formerly in a New York private collection; previously in the collection of M. de W., France.
