An over life-size ancient Roman basalt lower male torso with pronounced illiac crest. The massive figure exhibits robust musculature indicative of a deity, probably Herakles.

Ca. 1st – 2nd century AD.

Height: 17 in. (43 cm).

Formerly in the F. C. collection, Switzerland; subsequently in a European private collection, acquired 1989.
