An ancient Roman bronze figure of a winged nude Cupid or Eros, standing with curly hari bound in a top knot.

Ca. 1st - 3rd century AD.
Height: 2 5/8 in. (7.4 cm).

The Roman god Cupid (Greek: Eros) was the youthful personification of Love, and was usually depicted alongside Venus (Aphrodite).

Formerly in a Florida private collection, acquired from Rosen Antiques, New York, 1985.
