An ancient clay tablet inscribed with several lines of Sumerian cuneiform script recording the receipt of flour in the 2nd year of the reign of King Shu-Sin.

IIIrd Dynasty of Ur,
Ca. 2030 BC.
From Umma, southern Mesopotamia.
Height: 1 3/4 in. (4.5 cm).

Accompanied by analysis from the Yale University Babylonian Collection, 1977.

This tablet was studied by the Babylonian Collection of the Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University in 1977 (tablet 14).

Formerly in a New York estate, prior to 1977; Christie's, New York, December 7, 2000, part of lot 675; subsequently in the M. S. collection, New York.
