Sumerian Sealed Cuneiform Tablet within Envelope

An ancient clay enveloped tablet inscribed with several lines of Sumerian cuneiform text, the outer surface bears impressions over the text of a seal with a seated figure cuneiform text.

Early Dynastic Period, Ur III.
Ca. 2200 - 1900 BC.

Formerly in an American private collection, acquired in the 1970's.
