Roman Marble Sarcophagus Fragment
An ancient Roman marble fragment from the corner of a sarcophagus lid with an image of the head of a satyr in relief with deeply drilled eyes gazing upward, wild hair bound in a top knot, and a partial inscription, LVCIA, above and an incised image of an Eros on the central panel. Ca. late 2nd - 3rd century AD. Length: 12 1/2 in. (32 cm). cf.:B.
