An ancient Egyptian large green faience amulet of the child Horus (Harpokrates) standing, one arm raised to his mouth, the sidelock of youth on the right side of his head, a uraeus on his crown.

Late Period, Ca. 7th - 1st century BC.
Height: 1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm).
Very fine style.

Harpokrates, the infant son of Isis and Horus was a symbol of youth and fertility. He was essentially a patron deity of childhood, especially popular in the Late Period.
