Ancient Egyptian faience plaques of two of the sons of Horus: baboon headed Hapy (blue-red), the protector of the lungs; and falcon headed Quebsenuef (blue-green), the protector of the intestines.
Late Period, ca. 700-30 BC.
Maximum height: 3 in. (7.6 cm).
Intact, no reparis.
The four sons of Horus were charged with perserving the vital organs of the deceased in the Afterlife.
