An ancient Roman soldier's bronze 'mess tin' (patera or trulla) with a stamped inscription "...IAEVIO." This deep pan with a long handle was used to cook, eat, and drink from while on the march and was an essential part of every legionnaire's kit.

The stamped maker's mark likely reads: P. NAEVIO, the name of the workshop is known from other finds to have been active in central Gaul between Neronian and Flavian times.
