Greek Gold and Garnet Sun Pendant Necklace

An ancient East Greek necklace comprised of an eight point gold solar pendant inlaid with garnet and a string of tubular gold beads with four crescent pendants interspersed with carnelian oblong beads.

Ca. 4th - 2nd century BC.
Overall length: 15 1/2 in. (40 cm).
Intact and wearable, with modern gold clasp.

Formerly in an American private collection, purchased in Sevastapol in 1990.
