The Ixion Painter is the name given to the foremost Campanian vase painter of the late 4th century BC. Numerous vases have been attributed to his hand on the basis of style. He is named after a neck-amphora in Berlin showing the punishment of the mythological Greek king Ixion.
Formerly in a Connecticut private collection, acquired in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1970.
