Eagle standing left, on thunderbolt, club in the field.

Minted in Tyre, ca. 285 - 286 BC.

Ptolemy II Philadelphos ruled during the period in which the Ptolemaic kingdom rose greatly in prominence. The Light House of Pharos and the Library of Alexandria were constructed during his reign.
