Greek Terracotta Head of DionysosAn ancient Hellenistic Greek terracotta head of Dionysos, his hair pulled back under a fillet with a garland round his face. Ca. 4th - 1st century BC. The Greek deity Dionysos was associated with wine and vegetation, and by extension fertility. The god was popular in Rome under the name Bacchus or Liber Pater.
